1. A Little Flow

During  a hiking trip to Triple Falls in the Columbia River Gorge I came across this little waterfall. Not sure what system it dumps into, but I felt compelled to stop and grab a couple frames of it. The dynamic range didn’t exactly call for HDR, but I like how it brought out some of the details.

  2. Crooked Little Speeder Shack

[[posterous-content:pid___0]]Museums can provide the best photography subjects out there, and when the exhibit is hosted mostly outside it only gets better from there. We’re heading back to the BC Forest Discovery Centre today where we are going to take a look at a classic and historical “Speeder Shack”. These shacks were used as garages to store the railroad speeders in when not in service. This particular one is just so full of wonderful character, it literally speaks for itself. Photographically speaking, that is.

Please feel free to visit our blog “Crooked Little Speeder Shack" for the story behind the photo.

  8. Black As Knight

Exotic and rare sports cars capture the minds and imaginations of almost everyone. Having a chance to photograph an event that showcases some of these epic cars in their best light proved to be a total highlight of our year so far, and this post takes us along as we begin to view some of the cars on display at the Show ‘n Shine at the “Vette to Victoria” weekend hosted by the Victoria Corvette Club.

  11. Zambales, Philippines

    Hi Everyone!

These photos are taken when we had our summer get-away at one of the pristine provinces in the Philippines, Zambales. Seeing these photos make me want to go there and just lie down on the sand or on the grass fields, breathe the fresh air and drink sweet coffee.

I hope you like my photos! Drop by www.cargocollective.com/travischiong2 for more of my photos. :)

  12. Mist

I recently returned from a family vacation to Niagara Falls, Ontario.  It was a large group, about fourteen of us, including our kids.  It was something we had wanted to do for sometime.  Our trip was planned from July 1 through July 4th which happened to coincide with Canada Day and our Independence Day.  We spent most of the first day familiarizing ourselves with the town and I spent most of the first two days taking family portraits.  I woke up early on our third day hoping I might get a chance at some HDR photography before the tourists and vacationers filled the streets.

This is a shot of Horseshoe Falls.   I couldn’t quite get a good vantage point for the tripod so I placed the camera on top of a chunk of rock that composed the railing.  Unfortunately a chunk of that rock is in the frame.

Three image HDR shot using a Nikon D40 and Nikkor 18-55 mm VR.  Images were combined and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro with minor adjustments in Adobe Lightroom 4.

  15. Dinner With The Roscoes

Join us as we enjoy an elegant dinner with one of the founding families for the Greater Victoria area on Vancouver Island today. The Ross Bay Villa is one of the original homes in the city that nearly had a date with a demolition crew. TLC The Land Conservancy of BC came in to save this historic place and has spent more than 10 years in the active restoration and renewal process. The results are absolutely breathtaking. Today’s post finds us taking a detailed look at the Dining Room, which is furnished and decorated in antiques that are either originals or are period correct.

Please feel free to visit our blog “Dinner With The Roscoes" to see all 7 new HDR images and to read the story behind them.
